So, I'm asking the ultimate newbie question: is this budding? Thought I'd know budding as soon as I saw it but after a re-twist, not sure if they are buds or just bumps formed from manipulation. The 'buds' are not appearing on all locs. No matter what, this process is exciting!
So what do you think?

Yes Ma'am! It sure is! You should've seen how overly excited I was when I noticed my first bud. LOL. They look great! You're well on your way to being loc'ed, girl! Love them! <3
Yay! Thanks for your comment - made me smile!
Yes, it is. :) Your locs are looking really nice. Keep going!
It's realy just so neat :) Thanks Naturaleza!
Yaayyy for buds thats definitely a bud =] just finding a couple myself last night after my first wash since my retight this month these types of discoveries call for happy dances =] *doing my happy dance* lol
*doing the happy dance* with you :)
@ Kareen, That is one of the reasons why having a look at other people's journey is so interesting and encouraging. Definitely makes me happy. Cos, we have different hair textures and we have started the process differently - you, comb coil and me, two-strand twists. So it is going to be exciting to see how our locs come into their own. Even with the fuzzy wuzzy budding hair. :0)
May I ask though, how come you did not start with interlocking or what people call latch hook?
Naturaleza, I went in for a consult a few months ago and the loctitian showed me how each installation method would look which was very helpful. I chose the comb coils because: budget! (latch hooking to start locs was more expensive) also I didn't like the way they looked on me and I liked the way comb coils looked. When I got married, I had my hair comb coiled so I sentimental towards the style :)
cant wait to see them at one year. I'm currently at 1 year 5 month.
That one year point seems sooo far away! Congrats on almost reaching 18 months :)
Yay! I have a few of those, but I was scared to announce them as buds, because just like you, I wasn't sure. I thought they would be harder, I guess. Anyway, Yay, for you! So awesome to see your progress!
Thanks Kim and yay to you on your buds! Can't wait till the coils lose their newbie shine :)
If that's what budding looks like then I too have a few coils like that and I am 3 and a half weeks in yay
